Alaska State Assistance

The state of Alaska has a 30% of its total children population under the age of 18 living with single parents. This is lower that than the national average according to the US Census Bureau. The state boasts of a high personal per capita income figure of $32, 604. This is an encouraging figure for the single mothers in the state of Alaska. In our overall ranking of the 50 states in the United States of America, Alaska holds a pretty descent rank of 15 in overall terms.

Childcare: The state of Alaska aims to aid families attain self-sufficiency and runs specific programs for the same. The Parents achieving self-sufficiency program is one such successfully running program of the Alabama state government that had helped many families attain self-sufficiency. The State of Alaska Public Assistance department runs several childcare programs for the residents of the state.

Healthcare: The state of Alaskaaims to supportexpecting and single mothers residing in the state who do not have access to proper healthcare. There are some public assistance programs like the Denali Kidcare program that provide health care facilities to children and expecting mothers who cannot afford to pay for medical facilities. The Public Assistance Department also runs medical aid programs for low-income families who cannot afford quality medical care.

Food & Supplies: The Family Nutrition program of the State of Alaska aims at supporting pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers with proper nutrition enabling a healthy life for both the child and the mother. Under this program, the state runs various educational schemes helping you have proper required knowledge for bring up the child as a single mother. The state government, in collaboration with the Federal government also runs The Alaska Food Stamp Program, which provides food benefits to low-income families and households. Depending upon the size, needs and the financial situation of the family, one is entitled to monthly food products.

Rent Assistance: The Housing Choice Voucher Program in Alaskan assisted living homes is a program based under rental assistance and was formerly known as Section 8. This scheme is one common mode for obtaining affordable housing to low-income families and single mothers in need of housing. This program, however, is still not very popular and lacks widespread awareness. The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation is also one popular medium in the state of Alaska for obtaining affordable housing. The various services offered by the State of Alaska offer residents safe and affordable quality housing.

Educational Grants: The state board of Alaska Department of Education and Early development offers various schemes and scholarships offering affordable support in the form of scholarships and grants to residents of the state. The AlaskAdvantage Education Grant is also one popular support scheme for needy scholars in the state.

Transportation: Being the huge state it is, Alaskans tend to travel a lot from one place to another. Alaska has a developed transportation network and is supportive of working class who tend to travel a lot.
